What this site keeps in your browser, and why.

What we store

Browser storage lets the site remember a few things on your device. It is separate from cookies.

  • Recently viewed houses. Local storage named n4-recent keeps the last 12 houses you viewed: their names, places, images and links. It stays until you clear this site’s data in your browser.
  • Your position in search results. Session storage named n4-stays-scroll:, followed by the search query, remembers where you were on the results page when you return from a house. It clears when you close the tab.
  • Service diagnostics. If a service problem occurs, local storage named bofe_incident_state can keep a small record of recent incidents so the site can report its status. It stays until cleared or replaced by a later record.

Google Maps

Google Maps loads only when you press “Show the map”. Switching the page layout (“List & map”, or “Map” on a phone) does not load it. Until then, you can browse the house list and page details without loading Google Maps. Loading a map sends Google your IP address and browser information, and Google may then set or read its own cookies. Session storage named n4-maps-requested remembers your map choice for this tab; it clears when you close the tab. Read Google’s cookie information for details.

No analytics or advertising cookies

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. There is no optional-cookie consent banner and we do not store a cookie-consent choice.

Reservations

Reservations are taken by phone or email. The site does not run online card payments, sign-in or enquiry forms, so it does not set payment, sign-in or form-verification cookies as part of this service.

Clearing stored information

You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. This removes your recently viewed houses, remembered search position and map choice. You can still browse houses and contact us.
