Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to plan a stay on next4weeks.co.uk. This statement covers the whole website.
What we aim for
We build the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means:
- every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline;
- the 28-day availability grid can be read without colour: free nights, days a stay can start and booked nights differ in shape as well as colour, and each day has a text label for screen readers;
- the map always has a list beside it with the same houses and prices;
- text has a contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background, and tap targets are at least 24 by 24 pixels;
- motion is kept to a minimum and stops when your device asks for reduced motion.
What we know is not perfect yet
- House descriptions and photographs come from the owners. Some photographs do not yet have descriptive text.
- The map itself comes from Google Maps and is harder to use with a screen reader. The list beside it has everything the map shows.
